Brief Answer:
Glimipiride taken before and voglibose with food.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

Sir, If you want to take Glimipride, It should be taken 20 -30minutes before food. If opting for Voglibose, it should be taken with the food. i.e, just before or with first bite of food.

The number and dosage will be depending on your sugar levels. Once the dosage is set to control the sugar levels, you can take combination tablets with that particular dosage of drugs. Any new addition of drugs or increase of dose should be done with the regular treating doctor's advice only. Because any higher doses than required may cause hypoglycemia, which means lower sugar levels which is dangerous.

Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you.

My Diabetic Background is as under..Pls advise dosage of Glimiperide or Voglibose..Are there any combinations available of Glimiperide+metformin or Voglibose + metformin?..

Background - I am Diabetic for last 9 years and also have a family history, both my parents, Father Aged 72 and Mother Aged 63 are type II diabetic and are on medication. Both are fit and leading a healthy life but do take medicines regularly..
I was diagnosed with Diabetes first in 2005..Initially I did not take regular medication but from 2009, have been taking metformin regularly..
From Feb. 2014, I have been taking Januvia and Metformin dosage as mention in Current medication.My fasting Sugar levels remain in the range of 180 - 210 and post prandial in the range of 190-210..Randomly if I check, it will be around 205. I did my test in XXXXXXX 2014 before strting Januvia and current medication and results are as under;
BLOOD GLYCOSYLATED HEMOGLOBIN (HBA1C) - 9.9
MEAN PLASMA GLUCOSE - 237.4 High < 116.0 mg/dL
I have not done the tests again..Pls advice, if I am taking the right medicine.

Brief Answer:
Latest Blood sugar values are required.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Mr. XXXXXXX

You are saying that the tests were done lastly only in jan-2014 before starting the medication. That implies that the drugs were prescribed for you with those values.

My advise is you need to get the test done now to see whether the dose of drugs sufficient enough to control your blood sugars. If the sugar levels are under control right now, then you need not change medication at all and continue with the same doses.

You only will need to increase dose when sugar levels are not under control. With out present levels of blood sugar you should not keep on adding new drugs or increase the doses. Because the drugs you are using are effective antidiabetic drugs. They might be controlling the sugar levels perfectly.

Please get back to us with latest Fasting, Postprandial and HbA1c values for further proceedings.

Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you.
