Brief Answer:
Both are different entities

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

Thank you for posting the query.

As per medical terminology, cyst and cystic lesion are different, but in lay man's term, both are addressed for same purpose.

Cyst is refered to the soft tissue globular collection of fluid material like sebum, synovial fluid or any such material (e.g.- sebaceous cyst, ganglion cyst, ovarian cyst)

Cystic lesion is referred to oval or circular destructive lesions, mostly in bones and within the soft tissue substance).
These are often responsible for gradual destruction of surrounding normal tissue.

Nexus between the both is that Cystic lesion can arise out of many causes, other than cyst also (like tumours, malignancies etc).

Treatment options of cysts and cystic lesions vary from case to case, depending upon the cause, size and characteristic of the lesion.

Some of them can be treated by medications and some may need surgery.

I hope the answer was useful.

You can ask me any further doubts that you may have.

Thanks.

Kind regards.
