Question: This Question is for Dr.Kakkar.S

Hello Doctor,

Can i get the difference between hair4u lotion and trilast hair serum
My dermatologist prescribed me to use trilast just to avoid extreme dermatitis and flaking of scalpe with hair4u lotion.
My question would be if I start using trilast will it continue the effect of hair4u lotion which am using since 3 months or will it be like completely new session starting from 0 and should wait for atleast 6 months to see its effect.

Brief Answer:
Trilast seems to be an antidandruff preparation

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

It is most likely a topical preparation for flaking and dandruff and contains propylene glycol. It does'nt seem to be specific for hair fall. Therefore I suggest you to use both hair 4 u and trilast, but at separate times of the day e.g trilast during day and Hair 4 u at night.

Thanks for your response Doctor.

1. I have severe dermatits and itchy scalpe, any medication to overcome itchy scalpe and dermatitis(for now am using scalpe shampoo on alternate days).
2. My hairfall is not in control even after 3 months of the application of Hair4u lotion, its like if i touch my hair its coming off easily. could you please suggest some remedy for this and also hair4u lotion is aggravating dermatitis and scalpe itchiness.

Brief Answer:
Use a topical steroid lotion for 2 wks and switch to a different solution

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

For flaking, I suggest you to use a topical steroid e.g topical 3% solution(contains clobetasol propionate 0.05% and salicylic acid 3%), once daily at night for 2 weeks. It will clear your scalp of scaling and flaking, within 2 weeks.

In addition I would suggest switching from hair 4u to Androanagen solution (less drying and similar action).

You should also take a tablet of finasteride 1 mg i.e Finax 1 mg tablet. It is a specific role to arrest and reverse early hair loss and thinning in androgenetic alopecia.
