Question: I need psychiatric advice. For many years now, my husband will rub his penis against me while I sleep, often resulting in ejaculation. Lately he has wken me from a deep sleep and I have lost patience. He denies what he is doing, but finally admitted it last night and apologized. Does he have a problem with what I recently learned is called Frotteurism? Does he need a doctor's help?

Detailed Answer: Hello there, Thanks for writing to us, I understand that you are worried about your partners behaviour .yes , having sexual contact with the partner without her consent is un accepted and rubbing external genitalia [penis] is equivalent to frotteurism, even if the person is her own partner. But, I need you to understand frotteurism is not a mental illness, it is an act of sexual perversion happens when sexual life between partners are not sweet and comfortable. So they try any act which give them pleasure as happened in your case. I need you to speak out with your husband what he needs and say him to understand that sex is just a part of life and spend enough time with him, if he feels that you are taking care full care of him, he came out with his taught in his mind. Also, meditation and yoga gives strength to take control of mind. If he still have problem controlling the act and trying to have a solution, visiting a nearby psychiatrist is advisable.
