The presence of constant double vision needs further evaluation.

Note whether the double vision disappears on closing one eye, if double vision disappears on closing one eye it is because of nerve palsy which supply the extraocular muscles and requires evaluation in the form of
1. Examination by a ophthalmologist for confirmation of diagnosis and evaluation by investigations if it is because of nerve palsy.
2. Vision and refraction testing
3. Later decentered glasses or prisms can be used.
Nerve palsies will usually improve over 3-6 months.

If the double vision is present even with one eye being kept open, it indicates presence of problems with in the eye like high refractive error causing anisometropia, keratoconus..... Hence this requires examination and treatment of the underlying cause.
