Brief Answer:
The term is explained below in details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.

An overlap in the area of exposure during 2 different x ray exposures involve image formation in the same area of the film.
This is an overlapped field of view.
Most likely the CT scan in this case may help to figure out the source of this shadow or ruled out all the problem at all.

Hope my answer was helpful.

Brief Answer:
Follow up explained below in details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,

All medical imaging methods deposit some form of energy in the patient's body.
Patients undergoing x-ray are subject to a wide range of exposure levels.
If the tissue is exposed to the same radiation levels it is a uniform exposure.
If the tissue is exposed to different radiation levels it is an non uniform exposure.
The health risks of non-uniform radiation exposure are lower than the same dose at a uniform exposure.

Hope it helps.
Take care dear,
