Question: I had colon resection surgery on April 12 , had normal bowel moments starting after 2 weeks post op , the last couple weeks I been experiencing constipation , taking Metamucil daily and stool softener, i experience bloating and discomfort, is it ok to try laxative ?

Yes definitely you can try laxative(metamucil is a laxative;You can try in higher doses) or can switch over to different laxative like Lactulose(15-30ml)but as bloating and gas is there along with laxative take activated charcoal tablets daily.This will absorb gas from stomach and intestines.Its over the counter.
