Question: What foods should be avoided for a 2 years old child, when the stomach is upset? 4-5 motions with foul smell. I stopped milk and replaced with curd. Should fruits also be avoided? Is Zinc syrup is advisable to aid recovery/digestion?

Brief Answer:
avoid milk and juices

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Usually loose stools is viral infection and may last a few days.
You are right in stopping milk and replacing with curd.
Yes fruits and their juices may better be avoided.
Also keep giving oral rehydration solutions like electral.
Zinc at 20mg per day is essential for 14 days to help in healing and recovery.
Ensure she passes urine atleast six to eight times a day.
Wishing your child good health.
