What Does White Vaginal Discharge Along With Cramps Indicate?

Question: Hi.. I am a female of age 26 yrs and having hypothyroid. Currently on Eltroxine 100 MCG. I have irregular periods and my last periods start date was 2ndFeb 2015 and before that start date was 26th Dec 2014. They generally last for 4-5 days. I haven't yet got my periods. And I did pregnancy test, it came out negative. Also from around a week I am feeling like having periods, abdominal cramps. But a white discharge is happenning instead of periods. What should be done?

You may repeat a pregnancy test after 4 days if still negative then either you can wait or take tab medroxy progesterone acetate under the care of your doctor. You can investigate the delay in periods by doing thyroid, prolactin blood tests and TVS (Transvaginal scan) pelvis ultrasound scan.

white discharge is likely to be vaginal infection and you may insert candid vaginal tabs for the same. Please monitor weight changes.

You may consider contraceptive pills for regular cycles and protection.

We are planning for baby. Should contraceptive pills be taken then? Also, any other precautions that need to be taken?

Avoid pills

Detailed Answer:
you should take tab folic acid 5 mg daily. ensure that your thyroid test is normal continue medication for the same. pills will prevent a pregnancy and best avoided. an ultrasound follicular study may be done to know if you are having egg formation and rupture. it's done from day 10 of periods till egg rupture
hemoglobin rubella IGG and IGM blood sugar should be checked to ensure good health
