Pulsation indicates increased vascularity in the area or some dilatation in blood vessels size.
You can also feel pulsation during height of anxiety , stress or excitement. It will be temporary only. So If you don't have either of these, you need to get your heart and chest examined by a specialist (cardiologist). You may have enlarged heart, dilated vessels(aneurysm), hypertension or some problem in lung. You need to get a x ray of chest, ECG and ultrasound scan (echocardiogram), blood pressure monitoring, blood work up (complete) to come to a diagnosis and to decide about treatment.

Being that the pulsating is only temporary should I still make an appointment for the cardiologist
