Brief Answer:
Widal test and its iterpretation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
S.typhi'o' (somatic antigen) 1/80 is positive
S.typhi 'h' (flagellar antigen) 1/80 positive.
This widal test result indicates that you might be having active S.typhi infection.

However rising titre as opposed to single titre has more predictive value and rules out false positivity.
It means you have to repeat Widal test after 1 week, to see if there is any four fold rise in titre.
The Widal test is considered positive if TO antigen titer (single titre)is more than 1:160 in an active infection.

The most confirmative test of the Typhoid fever is however positive culture (either blood, urine or bone marrow aspirate) of S. Typhi.
If clinical condition dictates or strongly suggest Typhoid fever ,one can start on antibiotic therapy for typhoid fever, pending culture reports and repeat Widal test.
Meanwhile you should take semisolid diet (Indian kichri for example) and avoid non-vegetarian foods .
