Question: Hello. I just positive received results from a stool test for H pylori. I sent for the test after trying to figure out some symtoms such a frequent naseua, heart palpatations (all tests came back good for heart) , and anxiety.

My question. What is the best treatment for this? I have read the most common is the triple treatment that includes the 2 antibiotics and an acid reducer. But also read that is not always successful. Do probiotics help?

Thanks !

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics would help to eradiacte H.pylori. Probiotics will not.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for posting query to HCM.

I've read your question thoroughly and understood your concern .

Any person tested positive for H.pylori is advised for eradication therapy. These two antibiotics are very effective in most cases; provided patient is compliant with medicine. Antibiotics are agents that target bacteria and mostly kill it. Therefore, you may continue with triple therapy as would be advised by your treating physician.

Probiotics are NOT antibiotics though. Probiotics help to restore normal bacterial habitat inside the intestine.

Hope to answer your concern .
Further questions are most welcome
