Question: hello. can you explain these results?
semen volume - 2.2ml
semen ph - 7.7
sperm concentration - 21m/ml
motility (double count, progressive/non progressive - 42%
progessive motility - 38%
total sprm (m per ejac) - 46M
total progressive motile sperm 17m
liquification - 20 min
normal morphology% - 6%
head defects % - 90%
neck/mid defects% - 30%
tail defects % - 18%
I am not sure what the defects percentages mean. does this mean 90% of the sperm sample have head defects?

Brief Answer:
Abnormal morphology

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

The semen analysis which you have provided is good enough to have a child however these are the issues

1. A human semen is divided into head, neck and tail.
2. When they say defect is there in the head it means that the sperm will not be able to penetrate the ova. Tail defects will have issue to motility, the sperm will not be able to get to the ova
3. However on the brighter side, 20 million sperms are completely normal which is enough to bear a child

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me.

Regards
