Brief Answer:
Values abnormal. Needs confirmation of diabetes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again Mrs. XXXX,
Good day. Since you have been told you are pre diabetic this value of 6.8 is fine.

If you have been told you are pre diabetic based on the fasting values alone that is not appropriate. You need to do a 2hr 75 gm glucose tolerance test and Hba1c as many patients have their values in the diabetic range in the GTT test and in the pre diabetic range in the fasting test.

i would like to tell you that diabetes and pre diabetes can cause complications in the long run and one should try to keep their values in the NON-DIABETIC range when diagnosed to have pre diabetes. That would be a fasting value of less than 5.5 and post meal value of less than 7.7 and a hba1c less than 5.7%.

May I ask what changes have you made to your diet and lifestyle to prevent progression to diabetes?

Warm regards.
