Question: My 13y old son has the following microbiology test result:
pus cells 20-25/hpf; red blood cells 12-15hpf; macrophages nil; cyst E.Histolytica 1-2; trophozoites nil; H Pylory Ag negtive.
yeast cells nil.
Please interpet.

This reports is suggestive an mixed active intestinal infection with bacteria and infestation by a parasite called amoeba.

Pus cells and RBC are indicative of a bacterial infection
E Histolytica means amoebiasis.

A combined treatment with antibiotics and Metronidazole as per the weight of your 13 year old son for 5 to 7 days under the care of a Pediatrician should help to get him well. Also give him the probiotics
