You have not furnished any clinical details. I assume that a CT scan has been done which shows this small nodule in the lung. The features on CT are suspicious for lung cancer. But CT alone cannot distinguish between malignant and benign nodules. It can well be benign.

To get the exact diagnosis, as rightly suggested, you need a PET CT first. This will guide if a biopsy is finally required.
