default
Posted on Mon, 4 May 2015
Question: Strange sensation: I can feel my pulse in my thigh today. Last night I could feel it in my foot. Both on the left side only. I had a blood clot in my right leg over 30 years ago from birth control pills and the sensation is similar. I have no swelling. In good health, 5 foot 5 inches, 145 lbs. Non smoker, social drinker. 54 year old female. In the groin area, but sometimes goes does most of leg. Like throbbing but no pain at all.

Brief Answer:
It does not seem like DVT. See your Doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Your symptoms do not suggest that you have Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) as you must have had in the other limb long back. But it would still be better to get it ruled out. It could probably be a nerve issue due to which you are feeling twitching in your thigh and leg. Or it could also be some electrolyte imbalance. I suggest you see your GP or a Doctor who can examine you. They can then suggest whether you need a Doppler of your limb veins or any other investigations.
But I do not feel it is an emergency so you can do it as per your convenience.
