What Does Presence Of Mass In An Abdominal CT Scan Report Indicate?

Posted on Thu, 29 Jun 2017
Question: I am 74 year-old male with degenerative disc disease of lower lumbar spine. I recently had upper abdominal CT scan with contrast showing no evidence of adenopathy or abdominal mass but small subcentimeter renal cysts were reported, bilaterally. Should I see a urologist to determine whether my severe low back pain is attributable to other than degenerative disc disease alone?

Brief Answer:
I don't think you need to see a Urologist

Detailed Answer:
Good day and thank you for being with healthcare magic!

Small renal cysts doesn't cause pain and I think your pain is attributed to your degenerative disease. A CT scan is very good study to determine any pathology in the urinary system and I don't think your pain is urologic in nature.

I hope I have answered your question satisfactorily and please consider a 5 Star rating for my answer.
