Question: My throat was injured in August of 2014, through the twisting of my head to the right.
initial findings of ultrasound showed hemoraging or balonnong of a blodd vessel over a two week period
This was followed by Mri of neck and Mri soft tissue with contrast, nothing found. In April of 2015 I had a CT of throat, normal except subtle thickinning of esophagus non specific.. Pain is constant, location near XXXXXXX apple to left painful, tender now 10 months. If everthing is normal what then needs to be done? The ENT April 2015 also put a scope down my throat to check wind pipes vocal coards normal.. Any suggestions

Brief Answer:
Chondritis or tendinitis as most probable reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Read and understood that you had an injury to the throat following twisting of head over neck in 2014.
Findings of the ultrasound, MRI and CT scan noted. April 2015 CT showing normal except subtle thickening of the esophagus. Endoscopy for vocal cords and wind pipe is also normal.

Now the tenderness is for 10 months - pain is constant, located near Adam's apple to the left.
One of the most important cause of such a pain is chondritis of hte cartilage that make the Adam's apple or the inflammation of the muscle/s or tendon/s attached to the part which is painful.
The treatment is :
Good anti-inflammatory medicines with steroids in tapering dosages alone help.
This is so because this part is always under movement, practically impossible to give rest to this part,( as we can give rest to other parts by bandaging or plastering)
Please discuss this with your Doctors, get a prescription and possibly you will be fine.

I hope this answer helps you to get a diagnosis and proper treatment.
Please feel free to discuss further if you need to or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication.
