Question: 47 year old female and I have been taking levo for 20 plus years. Current Dosage is .224 per day (two tabs @ .112). Latest labs are below with ranges in ( ).
T4 14.9 (4.5 - 12.0)
T3 Uptake 27 (24-39)
Free T4 Index 4.0 ( 1.2 - 4.9)
TSH .43 (.45 - 4.5) (last result was .29 on same dosage)
Free T4 2.2 (.82 - 1.77) (last result was 1.29 on same dosage)
I am having major signs of hypo (depression, unusual sensitivity to cold, inability to lose weight regardless of excercise) but test do not indicate that. I have an appt with my GP this week to discuss the above labs and am looking for any suggestions for discussion.

Brief Answer:
consider free T3

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your question.
It is hard to say what exactly is going on. Your labs do look normal. There can be many causes for depression, cold sensitivity and inability to lose weight so make sure you doctor knows that you have these symptoms. The only blood test I do not see is a free T3, so you might ask your doctor to check that one. Occasionally a patient will have a normal free T4 but have problems converting it into the more active T3 and the best way to check that out is to measure free T3 directly.
I hope this is useful to you and I hope you are feeling better soon
