Question: hi age 39. had a seman test done results are as follows
sperm concentration 38mil/cc
total sperm 96 mil
PH 8.0
Volume 2.5ml
Pus 6-8 HPF
RED cells 1-2 HPF
Epith 1-2 HPF
Motility
Active 45%
Moderate 10%
Sluggish 10%
Not motile 35%
MORPHOLOGY
Normal 95%
Giant head 2%
swollen neck 1%
double tail 1%
double head 1%
Please can you explain to me these findings. I have been trying to have my wife pregnant for 18 months now. thank you.

The physical characters - volume and pH are within normal limits.
The sperm count and sperm concentration should be atleast 40 million/ejaculate and 20 million/ml. The sperm count and sperm concentration in your case is 96 million/ ejaculate and 38 million/ml which is normal.
Atleast 40 % of sperms should have active progressive motility.
In your case 45% of sperms should have active progressive motility.
Atleast 50 % sperms should have normal morphology.
In your case 95% sperms have normal morphology.
There is presence of pus cells, red blood cells and epithelial cells in sperm.
Presence of pus cells suggests presence of infection in the reproductive tract.
Thus, there is presence of pus cells or infection in the seminal fluid.
You need to consult your primary healthcare provider for prescription of antibiotic to clear the infection.
The sperm analysis should be repeated after clearing the infection.

this is my urine culture in comparison with my sperm count cld this b affecting my fertility. cld it b possible I have an STI even though I do not have any known symptoms.
