Question: First Semen analysis: (date: 10th Feb 2017)
Count 9million/ml motility 45%

I was told to repeat the test in 20 days, after the first diagnostics. what is the reason for increase in the count in 20 days?

What is the minimum count required for fertility.

Brief Answer:
It may be technical issue

Detailed Answer:
Hi.Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for trusting us for your health related queries.
Firstly, the difference in two test results may be due to technical error.Errors like sample collection, transporting the sample, observe error etc.More over, when first test was done, may be as you were doing sample collection for the first time ,the process of collection may not be appropriate. When the same procedure was asked to do,you were quite familiar with it,so might have given sample in better way than the first one.

For the answer for your next question, that is minimum count required is approximately 20million/ml.

For your further question,it might take nearly 3 months from the day you start your medications.

Advice:
Try to quit smoking and heavy drinking if at all you have these habits;to improve the sperm quality.
I hope this information is helpful and useful to you.
Feel free to ask for further queries.

Brief Answer:
Yes stress mainly and diet to some extent

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back again.
The main purpose of abstinence is that sperm/semen gets collected during the abstinence time and helps in getting near to accurate count.Lets say you masturbate or have sex then all of the collected semen/sperm would be vented out from the body. Then it takes some time for body to generate again. So on an average more the abstinence better the sample collection and hence near to accurate sperm count.
However, based on statistical evidence four days abstinence is the norm.

Stress has negative impact on it.

Diet has some role too.Its seen that sprouted seeds has positive impact on it.

I would like to introduce you to the word-'FERTILE PERIOD'.Its from 10th-16th day of menses. Here ovum is released and willing to meet sperms. So high chances of woman getting pregnant, hence called fertile period.Do intercourse at least twice in a day during this golden period to increase the chances of pregnancy.

Advice:
Try out concept of fertile period.

I hope this information cleared your doubts.

Feel free to ask further doubts.
