Question: Hi: I was treated for Cushing's some 40 years ago. The treatment was the removal of my right adrenal w/tumor.
I now have a very low testosterone level, one test by my GP of less than 200.
The question: what is the best treatment for low-T. I have read that there can be long term problems w/this treatment.

Brief Answer:
About testosterone therapy;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your query.
After 30-ies, testosterone level decreases with 1%/ year. So at your ageit is excpected to be 40% lower.
Starting treatment with testosterone may have serious side effects, such as;

-Increased risk of developing prostate cancer
-Increased risk of blood clots
-Worsening of sleep apnea
- Increased aggression and mood swings
-May increase risk of heart attack and stroke ect.

Your treating physician will explain, after a detailed clinical examination, rather you can start it or not.

Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
