Brief Answer:
Treatment depends on diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can fully understand your concern.

Your high PSA could co-relate with prostate malignancy.
Though the PSA level isn't given.

A bone scan showed no metastasis, is a good sign, if there's prostate cancer.

If right kidney didn't take up any contrast, it indicates poor function.
The left kidney shows fullness, which again shows decreased kidney function.
The scans aren't available for expert comment.

First of all, the diagnosis of suspected prostate cancer needs to be established.
This will need a decision from the Urologist, who performed the rectal examination(DRE), along with a repeat PSA.

The blood reports including routine,RBS, creatinine, and LFT need to known also.
If ultrasound scan-KUB and TRUS, has been done, report should be available.
Wish you good health.

The rectal examination carried out by the Urologist and did not reveal any problems and a biopsy may be carried out later. The PSA was 26 and then went down a couple of days later to 23 but this was a while ago. If there is no prostate cancer, what would be the treatment in respect of the kidney? Could this be a direct result from prostate cancer or a separate issue.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Renal scan needs to be seen.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

It's difficult to give an expert opinion on the scan, without seeing scan or report.

The second PSA should be repeated at 2-3 weeks interval, after checking the urine culture.

The creatinine report is essential, to give an opinion, of the kidney function.
Bone scan alone, can't give an idea of the kidney function.

It also depends on the ultrasound scan report, including TRUS scan.

They need to be seen, for an expert opinion.

Wish you well.
