What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Feb 2016
Question: Hi doc

I had a blood test before the new year iron rbc FBC were all fine also haemoglobin levels were ok. Just phosphate that was low

In repeat everything was also fine, phosphate back to normal however my iron was just a bit below the marker.

My haemoglobin rbc count all is fine.

Could this just be a false result? When the doctor took my bloods I think he caught a vein which caused blood to pour out my arm.

The Funny thing is there's no way levels can declime in just two weeks or is it linked to diet?

The doctor said nothing to worry about but because of the blood pouring out because of the way the blood is taken could this had affected results?

Because just two weeks back everything was fine including the iron

Haemoglobin FBC all ok transferrin saturation a bit low. Please give your thoughts.

All inflammatory markers were fine which the doctor said shows there's no inflammation or bleeding internally.

Am I just worrying too much. Also pain In stomach region after eating takeaway food late at night. Cauaing discomfort lasting a few days still feel it what can problem.be

Brief Answer:
Nothing worrisome;please provide the blood tests reports;food indigestion..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

1. A copy of the blood tests reports are required to compare the results and give a more accurate opinion.

2. With regards to the low iron levels, it all depends on the foods you take and the speed of production of new blood cells as long as no bleeding is present.

3. I think you are worrying too much unnecessarily. I usually do not advise to take blood tests in such short time as you did unless it is extremely necessary.

Again, nothing worrisome, just keep eating healthy and avoid drinking alcohol or smoking.

4. The stomach pain you had after eating takeaway food late at night was due to indigestion. It is common for the takeaway foods to cause poisoning or indigestion. I advise to drink plenty of plain water. Take lemon juice with soda bicarbonate and the discomfort you have will be gone.

Hope it was of help!

Results not available to hand doctor

Iron result was fine just only a week and a half before the test with full blood count also okay.

Second repeat FBC haemoglobin all fine but the iron was just a bit lower. The results were processed within 24 hours.

So you think it's nothing to worry about? As the doctor would have said.Transferrin Saturation about 15 per centIf I remember right markers for transferrin saturation were 20 to.25 per cent.

All the doctor said was RESULTS are fine have a worry free 2016Also with the indigestion it's been going on for 4 days now. I've got this checked out by a few doctors and they've advised me nothings the problem just take a antacid. But my pain started after antibiotics treatment 4 times within the last year. All bloods are fine though

It can't be anything like a ulcer can it? Through abdominal examination this has been ruled out already also bowel movements were listed too

Brief Answer:
Nothing worrisome, alteration in intestinal flora due to antibiotics use

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

1. The iron levels depend on what you eat and the presence of any acute illness. It's not worrisome as long as no other health problem and as long as you eat healthy.

2. With regards to stomach pain you felt after antibiotics treatment, it could be due to alteration of intestinal flora by the antibiotics.

I advise to take probiotics to optimize intestinal flora and antacids to stabilise stomach pH. PPIs are advised to start if no improvement.

Keep on with eating healthy and avoid spicy, chilly, fried, oily foods.

Once again, your situation is not serious, but you should be careful with what you eat and what you take.

All the best!
