Brief Answer:
SGPT and SGOT are marginally elevated

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for this follow-up question.

I have gone through all the reports that you mentioned.

First of all, ALP and GGT levels are slightly elevated here which are generally seen in alcohol intake or drug induced or certain hepatobillary disorders like acute hepatitis or cirrhosis or some cardiovascular diseases or hypertension.

SGPT and SGOT are marginally elevated which do not have any clinical significance.

Serum albumin level is slightly low and your prothombine time 18.1 sec is higher as compared to mean value,so your INR value will be around 1.3 which is also slightly on a higher side.

Here, I would suggest you to consult a physician with all these reports for clinical co-relation of the clinical features with the reports after taking complete medical history and thoroughly clinical examination.

A physician can't make or rule out any diagnosis on the basis of just blood reports,we need to see and examine the patient in actual and which has more importance than any laboratory investigations.

Also, are you taking any medications which would be useful to guide you further if you could tell me.

Still if you have any query then you can ask me.

Regards,

Dr.sandipkabra

Brief Answer:
No harm in taking these.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the follow-up.

There is no harm with these supplements and yes, they can be beneficial to you.

But as I said earlier,we can't start allopathic treatment when there is no particular diagnosis about the reports.

One can not comment only on the basis of laboratory markers, means they should be correlated with clinical signs and symptoms.

Are you having any symptoms?
Or are taking any medications since long time apart from this?

Kindly get back to me with above questions.

No other medicines but i have a fatty liver due to heavy food and alcholl . Alcoholl i have stopped for the time being i am a vegetarian. I used to have very heavy food which i have reduced drastically. How long would it take for my blood report to go to normal or come down if i continue not drinking and eating heavy food. I am also on the heavy side weight wise 116 kgs. Height would be 5feet 11 inches.

Brief Answer:
Fatty liver could be the reason for your altered blood reports.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the follow-up.

Here, I would like to say that fatty liver and your severe obesity could be the reason for your slightly alterd blood reports from normal.

This reports may come down to normal within 3 to 6 months following alcohol cessation and avoiding heavy foods or reducing this excess weight.

Generally, fatty liver condition is a kind of obesity of liver. And it is completely reversible in the initial stages specially, by following below mentioned corrective measures.

1) do regular exercise or brisk walk at least 30 minutes per day.

2) Cessation of alcohol intake further.

3) Avoid junk foods and fast foods,

4) Also take low fat and high protein diet (Veg- Pulses, soya bean)

5) You should take more fresh fruits and vegetables.

As there is no such a time limit on when you should have a repeat ultrasound scan and blood reports but it can be repeated after 3 months to check the liver status.

Hope this information will help you.
