Question: If lung cancer is diagnosed in December of 2014 with nodes diagnosed by CT, but there is a nodule in
October 2013 on chest x ray, but no CT, how likely were nodes involved in October 2014? Tumor went from about 2.5 to 3.4 cm in that time.

Brief Answer:
There is 85% chance that nodes were involved in october 2014

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Sometimes CT scan of chest which is done without contrast cannot diagnose nodules in the lungs which are found on chest x ray

There is 85% chance that nodes were involved in october 2014 and as your tumour has grown from 2.5 to 3.4 cm i would advise you to do a pet scan to find out the stage of lung cancer and its correct treatment option such as radiation only or chemoradiation or chemotherapy only

Brief Answer:
Treatment would be different

Detailed Answer:
Hi

When there was a nodule in october 2013 i do not think nodes were involved

During the october 2013 period surgery woud only be needed as treatment but in december 2014 treatment will involve radiation or chemradiation
