Question: Would esophageal cancer be seen on CT scan? I have experienced pain/difficulty when swallowing, but CT was clear of esophageal abnormalities.

that depends upon the stage
early in situ cancer can not be detected, for which any mucosal abnormalities can be best evaluated with endoscopy only .

So would that mean that a clear CT scan would indicate that, if I do have edophageal cancer, that it would be at a very early stage?

1. Intermittent for 2 months now, however I have been "testing" myself by swallowing things intentionally that are not well chewed to see if it gets stuck. So far no major sticking. Could doing this cauae pain on its own?

2. Only solids that I can tell, but am hypersensitive to this now so focusing on it I can feel liquids move down esophagus

3. No alteration in weight - fluctuate from 217-222 over two months.

4. Smoked for approximately 7 years, half pack a day. Have stopped since.

5. CT report isn't online, but findings were only stable lung nodules compared to CT 3 years ago. Everything else including visualized abdomen were unremarkable. Told imaging captured entire esophagus from base of neck to entrance to stomach.
