What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 May 2017
Question: They found blood in my urine and was sent to a urologist and they did a CT scan of abdomen and pelvic area, PSA, and cystoscopy. They said their was no cancer. Would the CT scan show if there was cancer in other organs? They tell me I'm suffering from health anxiety. I just need reassurance. Am I over worrying? They put me on effexor 37.5 mg. Do you think I'm over worrying myself?

Brief Answer:
it would look at all of the organs in the abdomen and pelvis

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

A CT abdomen shows all of the organs in the abdomen and a CT pelvis (you stated that there was a CT of the pelvis as well) would show the pelvic structures.

You can probably get the CT report from your doctor. It would assess all of these structures including liver, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder, bowel, kidneys, prostate, bladder, aorta.

If the CT was clear, this means that there was no evidence of a mass growing in these areas

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Detailed Answer:
HI

I'm saying that the CT abdomen and pelvis would have looked at all of the organs in the abdomen and the pelvis.
They would have picked up if there was an abnormalities in any of these areas

Since they did not, you should be fine
