Brief Answer:
PCNL slightly better to URL in your case

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,

I understand your query and concern.

I have gone through the opinion given by another expert as well.

The expert who earlier answered is quite right as far as requirement through URETEROSCOPY/URS is required .

But pertaining to a specific line of Increased stone size causing you pain, might just point to any complex organization of the stone which might pose few problems during ureteroscopic retrieval of the stone even though its quite accessible to URS.

This might be the sole reason, your treating doctor might have hinted an option of surgical removal of the stone.

Inspite of which i still believe that a procedure called PCNL/percutaneous nephrolithotomy is more apt in your case which can avert major open surgical procedure in stone removal.

This PCNL is particularly more helpful i removing even distally located stones gradually increasing in size.

The drugs to dissolve stones can be continued, but they are not a substitute to PCNL vs URS.

Hence i conclude PCNL>URS is more suitable in your case.

The final procedure to be adopted is decided by your surgeon acc to his requirements.

Thank you.
