Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

From the information you have shared it seems that your doctor added labetalol to your medication regimen to help keep your blood-pressure under good control. I do not see any other blood pressure medications listed in your profile.

With a blood pressure close to 120/60 we would generally consider holding labetalol with continued close monitoring of your blood pressure. if the medication dose is held, your blood pressure may rebound back to the very high numbers which you indicated in your question. For this reason your blood pressure needs to be monitored very closely.

However, it is extremely important for you to contact your primary care doctor to receive specific instructions regarding continued management of your blood pressure.

thank you again for sending your question. If you are taking multiple medications to control your blood pressure if need be reasonable to consider holding the next dose of labetalol until you talk to your doctor. Otherwise I would defer this particular concern for you to discuss with your doctor directly.

Thank you very much for sending a question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
