I'm at ICU and medicines are ceftriaxone+levofloxacin,I began with 38,2-38,6 and once 39,2 °C,cough yellow,moderate dyspnea.O2 saturation is 90-93 with O2 administration,White bloods cells now 10.000/ slight increase in CRP,HR between 80-85 etc.It has also been found a Q wave in D3,aVF and there has been a slight increase in Troponin that now(after one or two days)is normal.Doctors want to see if there is myocarditis.In summary it seems that it has been a bronchopneumonia in a heart affected patient.
The question arises:do the above bibasilar opacities go away by the aforementioned therapy(it's the 5th day of ceftriaxone+levofloxacin) or doctors have to change antibiotics on the basis of the mentioned pulmonary CT scan and other laboratory findings etc.Thanks and best regards.

Atypical bacteria are common cause for bilateral pneumonia and azithromycin is the best antibiotic for atypical organisms.
So please discuss with your doctor to start azithromycin 500mg once a day along with current antibiotics.
