What Does Absence Of Menstrual Bleeding Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 27 Mar 2017
Question: Hi, It's been more than 2 months since I got my periods. Earlier, I used to see some blood particles in urine each month which indicate that I would get periods in next 3-4 days (Cycle period: Once in 35-37 days). But for over more than 2 months now, inspite of seeing those particles, I never got a period. As per my previous Doctor (homeopathy), I am a little anemic (though the CBC report turned out to be normal) and so was prescribed Livogen Iron tablets and was asked to take it forever. But due to fear that its regular intake would lead to diabetes or any other health problems (like allopathy medicines resulted in weight gain), stopped taking it (it’s been more than a year that I stopped). Is it this that is stopping from periods to occur (I mean low blood)/is it the reason why I am seeing only blood particles but not the blood?
Or did the PCOD re-occur or are the shifts affecting my cycles?

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound and weight reduction advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear thanks for writing to us with your health concerns
This is most likely your pcod which has resurfaced which is common after weight gain or poor lifestyle
Get an ultrasound done and try weight reduction and your periods will get regular again
Nothing to worry about irregularities in periods in general in case not trying to conceive in near future
The allopathic treatment hadn't resulted in weight gain and rather weight gain leafs to PCOD which is the nature of ovaries and cannot be cured and just improved with weight gain
Get an ultrasound done and try weight reduction
Also test for pregnancy in case you are sexually active.
Stopping Iron tablet will not lead to resurgence so dont relate both of these.
All the best
