default
Posted on Wed, 10 Jun 2015
Question: Hi, I have a small oval shaped (very slightly) red bump on my index finger, near the bottom. It does not hurt or itch. It's been there for about one week. I'm wondering what this is and if I should see a dermatologist.

Brief Answer:
It looks like a Small Cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I saw the pic.
It looks like a small Cyst.
It doesn't respond to medicines.
I prefer to remove it Surgically and send it for histopathological examination ( Biopsy ) for exact diagnosis.
I request you to consult a Dermatologist or General surgeon, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Dermatologist can remove it with Electrocautery under local anaesthesia.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
