What Does A Pea Sized Bump Under The Skin On Lower Leg Suggest?

Posted on Tue, 16 Jun 2015
Question: I have a pea sized bump under the skin on my lower leg. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago. It is hard, stationary and doesn't hurt. It is just a little larger now than when I first noticed it. Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
No reason to be concerned.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of it? It would be much easier to give precise answer.

Lump in this location can be a lipoma or sebaceus cyst. Both are benign and both should not cause any concern. In general, if a lump does not grow fast we assume that it is benign.

The best your can do is to have soft tissues ultrasound to determine the nature of this lump. It can be removed by a general surgeon and tested.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
nothing serious

Detailed Answer:
This is nothing serious for sure. If there is a little dent in the skin(cant see it clearly) sebaceus cysf it is. But for sure its benign.
