default
Posted on Thu, 26 Oct 2017
Question: In the last two months, I wake up around 2am and my left eye feels like I have a small rock in my eye. I feel like something rubbing against my eye. Its hard to keep my eye open. I have a lot of tearing. It last around an hour. If I keep my eye closed and move my eyeball around I can find a place where I do not feel anting rubbing against my eye ball. Lately it has been daily, around 2am I feel like there is small particle in my eye.

Brief Answer:
Due to dryness of the eyes

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. The granular/particulate/dusty/rocky sensation is due to dryness of the eyes which may occur in case you do not get adequate sleep. The body may try to balance the situation by secreting much tears but unless you get adequate sleep the situation might not normalize. All you need to do is to go back to sleep. It is not concerning.

Let me know if I could help further.
