Brief Answer:
As symptoms were controlled so it depends upon choice of doc to alter doses

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from Health Care Magic for your health related queries

You are taking Aripiprazole (10 mg), Prodep (Fluoxetine) for about a year and doses were reduced to 5 mg and later the doses were again increased to 10 mg and new medicines Desvenlafaxine and Phenytoin were added.

Aripiprazole is an antipsychotic drug and the drug also act as mood stabiliser. Fluoxetine is an antidepressant and anti anxiety drug. Desvenlafaxine is an antidepressant and anti anxiety drug. Phenytoin is anti seizure drug.

You haven't mentioned your history in question so the reason for increase in dose of medicines cant be predicted with certainty. But it is possible that on reducing doses some sub clinical worsening of symptoms occurred which compelled the doctor to increase the dose again.

Desvenlafaxine is found to have more efficacy than Fluoxetine in depression so this would be another reason of switch to that drug, as per my opinion. Secondly its potential to lower seizure threshold is relatively lesser than Fluoxetine and this may be another reason for the switch of medicines.

Phenytoin is probably added to your prescription if you suffered any seizures in recent past.

Please provide details of your clinical symptoms so that I can comment with certainty.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
