Brief Answer:
Boil

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query and I have understood it.

A boil could be due to MRSA or regular Staph. We cannot tell until we have had culture results and antibiotic sensitivity.

However, since you have had past infections, and have been on broad spectrum antibiotics therefore it increases the chances of MRSA.

I would suggest empirical treatment with trimethoprim+sulphamethoxazole(co-trimoxazole) as MRSA is sensitive to it. If there is pus point, it can be drained to facilitate resolution.

Certainly it would be better if you can get it checked as soon as possible because the early you start antibiotics the better it is.

Topically you may use 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily. Mupirocin is effective against MRSA.
