Brief Answer:
Pityriasis XXXXXXX most probably

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM....

After seeing the photo, I could conclude that most probably you may be having pityriasis XXXXXXX

Pityriasis XXXXXXX is a mild form of dermatitis of unknown cause. It is a benign condition characterised by single or multiple oval hypoigmented patches. There may be mild scales.

It will clear up after a few months, or in some cases persist two or three years. The colour gradually returns completely to normal.

You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis. Many times, no treatment is required. The lesion might clear in few months without treatment. However, you may follow as below...

- you may apply moisturizing cream that may improve the dry appearance.

- mild topical steroid cream like hydrocortisone or mometasone cream can be applied for a few days.

- Pimecrolimus cream or tacrolimus oint. has also been reported to be effective.

- avoid sun exposure..you may use sunscreen lotion to protect the skin from sun.

- avoid soap bath, that might dry and exacerbate the disease.

I hope this would help you in managing your skin problem. Still any query..you may ask.

Thanks..
