What Do Warts And Sores On The Penis Indicate?

Question: Hi,

I am not sure I have genital herpes / warts/ sore . I found one on my penis .

Right now I am in Pickering, can you suggest best doctor to consult.

Genital herpes is an infection caused by Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) and presents as multiple, painful sores/ erosions on external genitals along with burning sensation on micturation whereas warts are caused by Human Papilloma Virus(HPV) are usually asymptomatic rough appearing growths on or near external genitals.

For your information, I have no pain or hitching. Just I see this since 3 weeks. It started very small and now stop growing. As it is on the pic now.

I am happily married since 4 years. I did not have any sex affairs other than my wife.

I can see a single, dome shaped lesion with central indentation. This seems like a genital molluscum contagiosum. It is an infection caused by a virus. Genital molluscum is an STD but it can happen through other means as well. Does your wife has any such lesions?

About my wife, she did not have this, but she got unusual white discharge for one week and now it is clear. She has constipation issues since long time.

Does her constipation issue cause any problems for lesion issue?

Please let me know how is my condition and what needs to be taken care.?

I mean, how serious this case is and what is the treatment?

Hi

Constipation is not related to this lesion
Freezing with liquid nitrogen (Cryotherapy)is the treatment of choice for a genital Molluscum contagiosum lesion. It would scab and fall off in a few days. It can also be removed with an elecrocautery procedure. I suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your region for the needful.

Hi.

Molluscum contagiosum is a very curable condition and as I mentioned freezing with liquid nitrogen is the treatment of choice. There is no need for any medication after the treatment. Though it is an infection and it can spread to form more lesions and it can be passed on to your wife sexually therefore you must get it treated, however, after treatment you can surely plan for the kids. There is no risk of with Molluscum causing any serious issues with you, your wife or your kids.

Sorry, No particular reference in XXXXXXX too. Cryotherapy /freezing is a very simple procedure anyways. Another way to remove Molluscum is by electrocautery.

Almost every dermatologist does these procedures. Doesn't require any special expertise, therefore, you may visit any easily accessible local dermatologist and I am sure there won't be any issue dealing with it.
