Brief Answer:
Due to nerve compression.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The changes in the acromoclavicular joint are age related degenerative changes and can cause nerve compression restricted activity and pain. The tingling numbness and loss of strength is due to nerve root compression at cervical vertebral level.
Cervical isometric exercises are beneficial to maintain the strength of the neck muscles. Neck and upper back stretching exercises, as well as light aerobic activities, also are recommended under the guidance of a physical therapist. Taking methylcobalamin supplements will also help.
Avoid bending your neck at abnormal position for long time, like on computer.
You can avoid using a pillow.
I hope this answers your query.
