What Do These Following Lab Reports Indicate?
Question: Age 55/F. Mar 2012 undergone Craniotomy for Left Acoustic neuroma. Histopathology report impression is Schwannoma. Discharge summary & investigation reports are attached. Kindly provide opinion regarding Prognosis, Recurrence, Complications, Frequent hospitalization required or not, Future treatment (if required)

Good afternoon
I have gone through all reports ,discharge summary .
As per histopathology and post op CT scan report PROGNOSIS appears to be GOOD.
i.e. acoustic schwannomas are BENIGN tumors unlikely to recur after complete excision .
Chances of reccurrence unlikely after complete excision , as seen on postop CT scan .
Chances of DELAYED complications are very less. Residual facial paresis and mild hearing loss/ ataxia may remain in some patients .
Normally these patients do not require frequent hospitalization pertaining to this disease .
No obvious future treatment needed . But patient may continue with regular PHYSIOTHERAPY and OPD follow up with neurosurgeon .
