What Do These Following Lab Reports Indicate?
Question: patient was hospitalised for hepatitis E.as per atatched medical records history of hepatitis A in 2003 and tuberculosis in 2004.positive for hepatitis A IgG and negative for IgM.kindly review all medical records and please confim can we relate current ailment with pre-existing medical condition.if not what could be the cause of current condition.

As per the records he is having abnormal liver function and the liver enzymes are in thousands. Viral hepatitis is the most common cause of this pattern of liver enzymes elevation. He is found to be positive for Hepatitis E. Hepatitis E is a virus that affects the liver and cause jaundice. It is acquired through contaminated food and water. It is a self limiting infection and complete recovery can be expected in a few weeks time.Till then he can take liver supportive medications like silymarin/milk thistle.
His previous issues like hepatitis A and tuberculosis are not related to this current medical issue.
He also has raised ferritin level which is usually seen in a condition called hemochromatosis. Ferritin level may be checked again after a few days and if it persistently high, work up for hemochromatosis may be done.
