What Do These Blood And Urine Culture Test Reports Indicate?

Question: Hi Doctor, we had GTT, CBP & Urine culture test. Got the reports for GTT & CBP. Have a look.

Low hemoglobin

Hello dear, hope you both are doing well.
All reports are good except her hemoglobin which is little less so she should take iron rich diet in the form of green leafy vegetables and jaggery and fruits like pomegranate and apples.
Also she should double the dose of iron so as to have good hemoglobin soon and take some sour thing like lemonade, orange or Amla along with iron tablets to enhance the absorption
Get the hemoglobin levels again after 4 weeks

Hello dear I have seen the attached reports
She has definite urine infection
Give her antibiotics after discussing and prescription from your gynaecologist
In my opinion you need nitrofurantoin or fosfomycin as these are safe in pregnancy

Yes dear fosfomycin is good and single one time dose and is very effective.
She definitely needs it and it will help in preventing meagre risks of abortion and preterm delivery
Online information and consultation is always a boon but physical examination by your gynaecologist at monthly intervals also equally important so definitely book her with a good gynaecologist soon

As suggested we have visited our doc today. she has suggested:

1. Aitrofurantoin daily 3 times
2. Potassium magne liquid daily 4 times having with water
3. Pantoprazole 40mg daily once

And a follow up culture test after 3 weeks.

For potassium megne the pharmacy guy gave us Citralka - disodiium hydrogen citrate syrup is this ok as in internet it says not suggested for pregnanacy category

Sorry for late reply as I was busy with my other professional obligations.

Citralka is mostly considered safe during pregnancy. It is commonly prescribed also without causing much side effects.
But some medical literature states that it is to be taken with precaution during pregnancy. There is not much research done on its safety during pregnancy. That is why it is said to be taken with precaution. Otherwise nothing much to worry.
