What Do These MRI Findings Indicate?

Question: Hi Dr Panwar just wanted to keep you abreast of what is happening.

My doctor has called on another neurologist to look at me since I am so concerned and I will be seeing him next Tuesday.
My doctor has sent him the report but not the mri scans as I have that and will be taking it with me to give to him to look at.
My question is in the conclusion to the report which you saw it states.
non specific white matter changes in keeping with microangiopathic changes. A myelination process would be less likely but cannot be excluded.
Does that mean there is a chance of MS still because of the myelination process and since you have seen the scans you would conclude no evidence of MS that you could see.

Thanks XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
That's not MS.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

I wish I could assure you that this is not definitely MS.I have reviewed your scans thoroughly and I can say this with absolute confirmation.
Hypertension is most common to result in demyelination process of 'non-specific white matter-microangiopathic nature'.
Migraine can contribute as well.

If you have further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Thanks again Dr,

Even though I have not had aura headaches or even regular headaches in years could they still show up on a mri from years back.
My blood pressure has not been high for a long time since I am on blood pressure meds ( coversyl plus ) could blood pressure from a long time ago cause this to show on the mri.

Thanks for you time,

Brief Answer:
Hypertension is the likely cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

Long standing hypertension is the cause here.Chronic migraine,I told, may have a contribution.
Even if intermittently under control, long standing hypertension, causes these MRI changes, usually.I come across several hypertensive patients in neurology outpatient with similar MRI changes.
