Question: My triglycerides is 260 and VLDL is 52. I am diabetic for the past 8 years and my current HBA1C is 8.5. I had a back surgery recently to correct my prolapsed disc in L5/S1. I am recovering alright, but the last 8 months have a bit physically challenging due to inactivity because of my back problem. Reports are attached. Kindly suggest.

Brief Answer:
Physiotherapy is needed to regain the muscle strength.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached reports. Your blood glucose levels and blood cholesterol levels are high. Prolapse of lumbar discs is an age related degenerative process. Inactivity and wrong body posture further adds to the problem. After the surgery it is suggested to have a few physiotherapy sessions to regain the lost muscle strength.
Your blood glucose levels need to be properly controlled after consulting an endocrinologist as the raised glucose levels can cause neuropathy and other complications.
Do consult a cardiologist too for complete cardiac profile. The raised blood cholesterol levels need to be controlled with medicines, physical activity and diet control.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
