My wife is pregnant with our first child. She is at 37 weeks now. her first day of the last period was 24 XXXXXXX 2016.

the problem is, the fetal measurements are behind especially the head and weight. and the doctors don't seem to have clear answers. all what we get is a (maybe).

The head measure 6 weeks behind (31 wk). Femur measure 37week. weight 1.9kg-2.3kg. low fluid. and the baby is breach.

Please give us honest answers.
is it normal? why all these anomalies?
why the doctors seem confused and have no clue and just try to answer to give an answer?
will the baby be ok?
what are the possibilities?

thank you.

Brief Answer:
Prognosis to be decided after delivery

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Small size of the fetal head can be due to chromosomal anomalies, genetic syndromes or rarely can be constitutional ( due to familial inheritance).
If there is any chromosomal anomaly or genetic syndrome, then the prognosis of baby depends upon the syndrome present.
Since the pregnancy is almost full term, therefore the diagnosis and prognosis can be confirmed only after delivery.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
