What Do Red Spots On The Penis Foreskin Indicate?

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Sep 2014
Question: I have a few red spots on the foreskin of my penis right below the head of the penis and one on the ring. They don't appear raised, they don't appear to be blisters. What are these? Yes it started out as one and now there is three. Warts? Herpes? Fungal infection, bacteria? I have added pics.
The biggest red spot , the one in the middle of every pic has been there since yesterday morning. The other two have been there since today. They seem to be in a line just spaced out. My fear is herpes or warts.

Brief Answer:
does not look like warts or herpes or fungal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This does not look like warts or herpes or fungal or bacterial infection. I think that it is just a hair follicle inflammation which may resolve on it's own. However, a physical exam is necessary to confirm diagnosis. No need to worry. Kindly be reassured.

Thanks!

But I have to push back my foreskin to expose the red spots. The are just below my penis head under the foreskin that I push back. How can those be hair follicle inflamed where they are located? I've never seen this before. It was just red spot yesterday and now there are three.

Are you sure it's not a wart?

Brief Answer:
common wart (not genital wart to avoid confusion)

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Okay. Got it now. If the location is not at hair follicle, then I think it should be common wart (not genital wart to avoid confusion). However, careful observation for few days by doing physical exam confirms diagnosis. Treatment for this is simple (Electraocautery etc) and usually does not lead to recurrences. Kindly be reassured, this is not serious issue.

Take care!

I've applied anti fungal cream for the past two days and it's cleared up a lot to where the spots almost aren't there anymore. I'm led to believe it was a mild fungal infection as warts don't clear up in two days nor will the fungal cream clear the warts up. Like I was stating they aren't growths like a wart would appear and aren't raised in anyway nor do they appear to be a flat growth like a wart. I'm not sure why I spent the $35 dollars for answers when I strongly believe you didn't take the time out to clearly look at what the problem was.

I still say that it is not fungal infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I still say that it is not fungal infection. Fungal infection do not present this way. Sorry if you felt that we were wrong, but I can say for sure that we took time to look into your problem.

Thanks!

Take a look at the photos i have uploaded...they are from today after applying the antifungal cream. Does antifungal cream cure or get rid of warts?

Brief Answer:
Does the cream you used any low potent steroid?

Detailed Answer:
Does the cream you used any low potent steroid? Please type the full name of the cream you used. If it contains steroid, then it obviously clears up these kind of things, TEMPORARILY. Still, I say it is not fungal infection at all. May be the spots resolved on it's own if it does not contain steroid, but not due to antifungal alone.

I've uploaded a picture of the cream I've been using. There is no mild steroid in it. It's clotrimazole 1% and that's it. That's only for antifungal.

Again, do you see any warts in the new photos? I'm led to believe an antifungal cream only will not clear up any warts, especially in two days. It just doesn't happen.

Brief Answer:
Now, I do not think

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Now, I do not think that these are warts. Sametime, I do not think that it is fungal infection as well. I think that those are minute blood clots may be due to some minor trauma, which would have resolved on its own.

Sorry for delay in replying.

Are the pictures pretty clear? I tried to get it at different angles using the light to see if you could see anything. I can no longer see anything there. The redness is gone and there is nothing there as far as a bump or something that looks like a wart and believe me I've done ALOT of research. When I first noticed the issue I did scratch and rub it and I'm sure that's why they were so red. The spots never bled or cause any itching. Just some mild pain which I think is due to me messing with it so much, touching it or looking it at every few hours to see if I noticed a change.

Did you the pictures that I updated and the cream I was using? That cream doesn't have a steroid correct? Antifungal cream doesn't clear warts correct? Just fungal infection correct?

Brief Answer:
That cream doesn't have a steroid.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, the pictures are pretty clear.

That cream doesn't have a steroid.

Antifungal cream doesn't clear warts.

But, as I previously told, I do not think it is fungal infection(as it does not present the way in pictures attached), As previously told, I think that those are minute blood clots may be due to some minor trauma, which would have resolved on its own.

Thanks!
