What Do Orange Particles In Stool Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Feb 2015
Question: I have been eating larger amounts of cashews for several months while reducing my food intake and losing weight. I use no supplements. I have had 2 bowel movements where some oily orange droplets are on the surface. BM's are normal all other health good.

Brief Answer:
A stool examination will be helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your query and concern.

This should not be a major concern in my opinion since other aspects are normal.

This could be a fat malabsorption secondary to intake of excess dietary fat contained in cashew nuts.

I advise you to get a complete stool analysis along with fecal fat estimation.

The treatment if any is largely directed by the test results.

Thank you.
