What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

default
Posted on Sat, 3 Dec 2016
Question: Hi Please find my reports. I have combined my previous 4 reports and also find my latest reports with the new tests being prescribed to me.

I have consulted many gastroenterologist till now and consulting at regular intervals. They all suggest same thing that I am totally fine and there is no major issue except XXXXXXX and Thalassemia minor.

But in actual I have just one major problem which is I need to go stools for the whole day. I am also taking Isabghol at night with warm water but then also I have incomplete stools. Many times stool get stuck at the bottom of my ass in hard form and that's why I don't feel comfortable while sitting which I think Is a major issue to me.

Please suggest me something which can make me feel better. Doctors have just prescribed me medicines for stomach gas and not more than that. They don't think there is any major issue........ but for me the problem is same I am not comfortable while sitting and also there is some sticky substance coming out with the stools.

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX

There are 13 attachments and the last three are my follow ups.

When I eat papaya the stools gets softer, and sometimes get watery, so these days I am eating papaya before meal.
Also when I include fruits in my diet, then also I get softer stools and if I increase the amount of consumption it results in kind of loose motion...

But when I don't eat papaya or fruits, the first stools is very normal and also in quantity it is normal, but afterwords throughout the day the stools gets becoming harder, and I need to go for them throughout the day to remove them, sometimes the hard stools stuck in my ass that I need to use my finger to adjust my bottom to remove them.

So these days I am eating papaya, as I am preferring softer stools than the hard ones even if stools get watery sometimes, please let me know if that's fine.

So there is no consistency at all.... it depends on what I eats.

Brief Answer:
IBS- C

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the additional information.
It looks like you suffer from constipation predominant irritable bowel syndrome.

If you are not getting benefited by taking Isapghol, then you may have to take lubiprostone.

Discuss with your doctor (Gastroenterologist) about the possibility of constipation predominant irritable bowel syndrome and about taking lubiprostone for relief.

Regards,
Dr.R.K.

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX

Is there any test or something to confirm I have. IBS-C. Please tell me if we can confirm it.

Also I feel some smell from my ass whereas when I touch there is no smell on my fingers, may be it comes from inside ass. Is that due to IBS or can it be for some other reason also.

What is the reason for getting IBS, can it be cured, because it is very difficult for me to go between people due to bad smell.

Can you tell me names of tests for diagnosis of Celiac disease and also for lactose intolerance and where can it be done, Can it be done at Lal Path Labs.
As I feel after I increased the milk and chapatti's consumption my smell problem has worsen. And I also feel like my body is not able to digest milk.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
There is no diagnostic test for IBS. It is diagnosed based on the symptoms and by exclusion.

IBS does not cause that smell. If you feel the smell is from outside anus, a local examination should be done.

IBS is a functional disease. The cause is not known. The symptoms can be kept under control.

The test for celiac disease is Tissue Transglutaminase antibody test. This can be done in Lal path lab.
The tests for lactose intolerance is hydrogen breath test. This can be done in a corporate hospital.

Dr.R.K.
